I'm probably going to forget most everything that happened. I'll forget that they call me 'moyen' or the matt with hair. I'll forget the meaning of 'bander'. I'll forget how exhausted I was on the bike ride to chambourg but how energized I was on the way back. I'll forget the pain of the bus rides. I'll forget the old guy breakdancing in place d'italie. I'll forget watching "Princess Bride" with normaliens. But I don't think that any of that matters.

I am here right now. Paris, France, Europe exists with all its oldworldness with all its contradictions with all its repetitive yet new themes. It's here and thriving. There are little children in the street wearing Zidane jerseys speaking french. I don't know how it's true but it is and that's all that matters. Just this place, this point in time, this point in my life is what I need to remember. That's all I need.

Though bastille day in Champ de Mars is something I'll never forget, nor the chamPs after the semi-final.

i miss everybody!
